Rate benchmarks

The Rate benchmarks page provides a full list of your uploaded rates, allowing you to see how your rates compare to the rest of the ocean freight market across individual trade lanes, corridors, or suppliers.

The page provides multiple options and filters that allow you to search, categorize, and drill down into your rates to analyze your performance.

Available views

The Rate benchmarks page provides three different views for your rates — All rates, Corridors, and Suppliers.

Any selected market metrics or filters persist across different tabs. For example, if you select Short-term and Market average metrics while on the Corridors tab, they will remain the same when you switch to All rates or Suppliers.

All rates

The All rates tab features a list of all of your rates available in Xeneta and shows how they compare to the current market rates across individual port pairs, with references to their associated supplier, container type, and contract number.

Depending on the amount of your data available in Xeneta, the list of rates may be quite long — be sure to use the available filter options to narrow it down.

Clicking on an individual rate will open an additional panel with all available information on that specific trade lane with an option to view it in Market benchmarks:

Corridors

The Corridors tab shows which of your rates are currently positioned below and above the market, grouped by corridor.

This view gives you a general idea of which of your corridors have the best and worst performing rates.

Clicking on a specific corridor will take you to the All rates tab and show you a list of all of your rates that belong to that corridor.

Suppliers

The Suppliers tab is similar to Corridors but groups your rates by supplier instead.

This view is useful if you want to see which of your suppliers' rates sit below and above the market to identify any potential opportunities for future rate renegotiation.

Clicking on a specific supplier will take you to the All rates tab and show you a list of all of your rates provided by that supplier.
