Regional hierarchy

The regional hierarchy in Air Advanced consists of the following levels:

  • Region (level 5)
  • Subregion (level 4)
  • Country (level 3)
  • Sub-country (level 2)
  • Airport or airport group (level 1)

What specific levels you can access for route analysis depends on your access level.

📘

The regional hierarchy in Air Advanced may not fully align with that of our main Air platform. If you want to see the full regional structure for Air Advanced, you can download it in Excel.

The lowest level of origin-destination pairs available for route analysis is Airport – Subregion (and vice versa).

All non-compliant routes and markets are rolled up to the applicable higher level into a "various" group. If that still doesn't result in a compliant route or market, we start adding the smallest compliant route or market to this "various" group until it becomes compliant.

High-level regional groupings

Levels below level 4 consist of countries, sub-countries, and airports or airport groups.

Airport groupings

To maximize the number of markets and routes we can cover, we have created airport groups, where individual airports that are relatively close to one another are clustered into one group:
