Index Contract Manager

Where the Simulator helps you design and test an index-linked contract, the Index Contract Manager (ICM) operates it. Once a contract is live, ICM applies your agreed rules to it and recalculates the rate automatically on each adjustment, so you do not have to work it out by hand.

A short video walkthrough of the Index Contract Manager is coming soon.

What ICM does

ICM takes the rules you defined for a contract, the reference index, adjustment frequency, calculation day, calculation method, discount or premium, and any guardrails, and runs them against the live index. On each adjustment date it produces the new rate, with a transparent view of how that rate was derived.

In practice, this means:

  • Automated rate updates. Each period's rate is calculated for you from the contract rules, so there is no manual recalculation and no spreadsheet to maintain.
  • Transparent calculations. Every update shows exactly how it was derived, the index value used, the window averaged, and how guardrails or discounts were applied, so both parties can verify it.
  • A clear record. Adjustments are logged over the life of the contract, which supports the audits and dispute resolution that good index-linked contracts rely on.

From simulation to live contract

A typical flow is:

  1. Model the contract in the Index-Linked Contract Simulator and agree the rules with your counterparty.
  2. Set the contract up in ICM with those same rules.
  3. Let ICM calculate each adjustment automatically on the calculation day.
  4. Review the calculation view each period, and use the record for QBRs, audits, and compliance checks.

Surcharge and terminal handling charge treatment in ICM follows the fixed, platform-wide methodology, see what's included in an indexed rate. Documenting surcharge treatment alongside each adjustment is a recommended best practice.

ICM is rolling out for Xeneta-based index-linked contracts. Functionality and screens may change during rollout, and this guide and its video will be kept in step with the live product.
