Airline rate index
Airline rate index is an additional dataset available on the Benchmarks provides more insight into the air freight market by highlighting the rate development between airlines and freight forwarders.

The index values show how the average airline rates on the selected trade lane have changed relative to the start of the selected time period, where the index is always set at 100.
We calculate and show the index values on the airport-to-airport level only.
The index is updated weekly and is based on individual shipment data provided to Xeneta directly by our airline customers. The rate data they provide includes all typical associated costs like freight charges, security, and fuel surcharges — regardless of seasonality or the type of cargo.
